A message from the future

Professor Layton and his apprentice, Luke, receive a confounding letter - from Luke 10 years in the future. But the message inside is even more troubling: London of the future is in disarray, and the only person who can help set things right is Professor Layton.


  • More than 165 new puzzles weave seamlessly into the storyline. Players will be challenged with fun, brain-teasing logic puzzles and riddles, and even new types of puzzles.
  • Players who are still stumped with a puzzle after three subtle hints can select the new "superhint" option to point them toward a solution.
  • As with previous Professor Layton games, downloadable puzzles will be available after launch for a limited time.

Professor Layton faces his toughest adventure yet


The famous Professor Layton and his assistant Luke Triton have begun an investigation into recent baffling and disturbing events that have taken place in our capital city, London.

Most worryingly of all, the esteemed prime minister Bill Hawks has vanished and rumours in the city suggest that the jiggerypokery involves time travel - maybe even into the future!

Although touted to be Layton's toughest adventure yet, local experts say if anyone can do it, he can!

The redoubtable Professor Hershel Layton is faced with his toughest challenge yet. To crack the case he must both travel into the future and dig deep in his past, reliving memories of days gone by.

Nevertheless, our young sleuth is as determined as ever to assist Layton in solving this most troubling of mysteries

Professor Layton and the Lost Future offers more puzzles than ever! Over 165 fiendish and flabberghastingly fun puzzles await the professor and Luke. There are lots of different types: maze puzzles, logic puzzles, picture puzzles and many more!

The puzzles are satisfyingly integrated into the story and so it feels like you're really moving the case forward with each successful solution.

You don't have to solve every puzzle to complete the story – you can always come back to the trickier ones later. Keep an eye out for a temperamental bee who will locate any puzzles that you might have missed.

What's New:

Enjoy new types of puzzles that keep the challenge exciting and fresh. Trying to work out the correct way to fill in a tangram, working your way through a gravity maze, and taking part in a frog hop are just some of the new treats in store. There are even brand new puzzle battles that appear in important parts of the story!
