Connect your Nintendo 3DS to the Internet

Visit the Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo 3DS

In the Nintendo eShop menu, scroll left until you see the Settings / Other button

Select the Settings / Other button

On the bottom screen, scroll down until you see the Club Nintendo Account button

Select the Club Nintendo Account button

Enter your Club Nintendo account User Name and Password, and press Link
